Description

This is a 1940-dated Mauser K98k bolt-action rifle, chambered in 7.92x57mm Mauser (8mm). The receiver is marked with “42”, the manufacturer’s code for Mauser Oberndorf, confirming its WWII German production. This rifle includes a period bayonet with scabbard, making it even more desirable to collectors of military history.

The rifle shows service wear consistent with its age, with visible Waffenamt proof stamps and serial number 3581i. The stock bears the original sling cutout and cupped buttplate. The blued finish has turned to a patina, and the wood has typical handling marks from field use. The included bayonet features checkered grips and is mounted to the rifle, enhancing its authenticity and presentation.

As a 1940 production example, this K98k represents the standard German infantry rifle at the beginning of WWII, carried throughout campaigns across Europe. With its matching-era bayonet, it is a complete and highly collectible piece of WWII history.
